Event is for current and prospective Michigan Sugar Company grower-owners and industry professionals
Are you a current or prospective Michigan Sugar Company grower-owner or a sugarbeet industry professional looking to broaden your knowledge in the areas of growing sugarbeets or how the cooperative works?
If so, make plans to attend the first-ever Michigan Sugar Company Sugar Beet Summit on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, at Saginaw Valley State University.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at SVSU’s Curtiss Hall. The summit starts with keynote presentations from Corey Guza, Ph.D., Director of Research and Agronomy at Michigan Sugar, and Mark Torregrossa, Chief Meteorologist for MLive.com.
After the keynote presentations, the following breakout sessions are planned:

- Building and Running Effective Maus and Harvest Groups.
- Precision Planting.
- Sugarbeet Advancement Reporting.
- MSC Cooperative Governance, Structure and Stockholder Expectations.

- Strategies for Variable Rate Planting with Sugarbeets.
- Understanding Your Beet Payment.
- Maximizing Crop Insurance in Sugarbeets.
- Farm Succession Planning.
The event is free, lunch will be served, and Cream & Sugar Ice Cream Co. will be on hand to serve ice cream.
All Michigan Sugar grower-owners, interested growers, and industry professionals are invited to attend.
